A fully customised Shopify theme for a house of incense, resins, botanicals and minerals trading out of Alserkal Avenue in Dubai. We designed and built the storefront, set the catalogue up alongside the client, and launched.

A theme built for the catalogue, not adapted to it

The store sells resins, incense, botanicals, minerals, oils and the burners that go with them — six groups that behave nothing alike. A bought theme would have flattened them into one product grid, so we built the theme ourselves on Shopify. Collections carry their own subcategories, search surfaces the products people actually come for, and the whole storefront runs on Shopify's own cart and checkout rather than anything bolted on beside it.

Restraint, because the products are the loud part

"Everything is energy" is the first line on the page, and the design has to earn it rather than shout it. Wide type, a lot of air and photography that stays dark lets objects that are genuinely beautiful — raw frankincense, a geode, a hand-rolled stick — do the selling. The result reads as a house rather than a shop.

Handed over ready to run

We set the store up with the client rather than around them — collections, product templates, the free-shipping threshold and the newsletter capture, all arranged so someone who does not write code can add a product and have it land in the right place. The site launched, the client is running it, and they are happy with it.
